Bella Freud and Susie Bick

I went to the Mayfair hotel today to have tea with Bella Freud and Susie Bick, who were there showing my favourite clothes by far from London Fashion Week. If anyone has read My Mother's Wedding Dress, you'll already know that I'm a huge fan of Bella's jumpers -- as I write, I'm wearing one now, in black and white stripes with her signature dog on the front. But as you'll see from these pictures, by Marley Lohr, there is more to the collection than sweaters. Susie Bick is clearly the sexiest girl in London (revealing,by the way, that you can still look damn hot over the age of 40), and Bella is entirely herself, as always. I think that's one of the reasons she's such a good designer: she never tries to look like anyone else, or make clothes that imitate others. Nor is she ever less than her own woman, which is rare in an industry dominated by male designers. Oh, and as is clearly evident in these photographs, Bella and Susie bring new meaning to how to wear woolly socks...

"Oh!" indeed! (I want the "The Last Poets" cardigan...must start saving now). I can just see you in your stripey jumper. For now I will have to make do with my vast collection of stripey socks...

I have a fair collection of stripey socks, but feel the need for more, as all of a sudden several have developed holes in them. Why now?

I prefer stripes to dots, too, now that I come to think of it. Dots are too pretty-girly, stripes are somehow more striking; and a French matelot wins hands down over an itsy-bitsy polka dot bikini.
And am v.impressed by Sarah for composing a fashion haiku!

I much prefer stripes to polka dots...in fact, today I am wearing striped socks, a striped sweater, and come to think of it, a striped scarf as well.

You can never have too many stripes. The late writer Laurie Colwin loved stripes, and I always think of her in a navy-and-white striped shirt, like one of those worn by French sailors.

(By the way, I forgot Susie Bick is also Mrs. Nick Cave, and I write this while listening to his smoky-voiced music).

Yes, they make a very cool couple indeed. As for stripes: did I mention Coco Chanel in a striped sailor's top?

I am too much of a Yayoi Kusama fan to ever have anything less than absolute love for large dots, but stripes hold their own very well in my affections.

wow your friends are really sexy and beautiful, those pictures are great and the clothes they are wearing are so cool! Sometimes I was wearing a dress designed by Sildenafil Citrate an unknown Italian guy and it was nice
