Here is the first extract of Coco, from the Telegraph. Very few pictures -- I'm afraid you'll have to buy the book for those (nearly 300 of them!) -- because of copyright issues and the risk of online piracy. Anyway, hope you enjoy the words now, and the pictures later.
In the real world, am just off to the vet with my elderly cat, who despite her great age and fragility is nevertheless strong enough to bite me when I attempted to cut her extremely long nails last night. Coco Chanel would not have approved of my cat's personal grooming; Mademoiselle was very insistent on a clean-cut manicure at all times, whereas Lizzie appears to be letting herself go...

Great to read it and now I want more. A friend is going to order for me hopefully. What great writing - a magnificent taste of the book.
Looking forward to it enormously
"...just off to the vet with my elderly cat, who despite her great age and fragility is nevertheless strong enough to bite me when I attempted to cut her extremely long nails"
Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my autochthonous black & white cat after a freak reaction to some fairly routine dental treatment at the vet's. Very distressing and guilt-inducing to lose him like that, especially after everything he'd been through (I found him years ago abandoned on a railway line and he came back home with me to a charmed life among the indoor tree ferns). On a happier note: a new marmalade-coloured kitten has just joined the household and is now installed as the keeper of the tropical fronds...the baton has been passed.
Chanel will be a treat when it arrives!
Oh many thanks for the link, I will have to read this. I am looking forward to the publication of this.
Just read "Daphne"
I have had to eat my words - "Fiction?" says I to my sister - "I prefer my history straight!" But your book is an exception - esp having read "The Dark side of Neverland" last year.
Maybe as it has been drizzling rain for the past few days here in normally sunny Queensland I was able to 'immerse' myself in a long ago English time space . . .
kind regards - Rhonda
