Christmas is coming, time to go to Daunt Books...

I'll be at Daunt Books in Chelsea tomorrow evening (7pm, December 15th) talking about Coco Chanel, and signing books (if anyone is out and about doing their Christmas shopping). Here's the address: 158-164 Fulham Road, London SW10 9PR; tickets available at the shop or telephone 0207 373 4997. Please do come if you can... I can offer wine, conversation, and a very surprise guest...

I have just bought Chanel as a Christmas gift for a dear friend. I wish you could have signed it. What books did you buy ?

May you have a wonderful Christmas and may 2011 be the year you wish it to be - full of wonderous things. Thanks for a marvellous blog that keeps me reading, thinking and smiling.

I wish I could have signed it too, in Cape Town, with a view of Table Mountain. Enid, thanks for being here this year...

I have to be in London tomorrow evening - but am tied up from 6-9. Bother. Hope it goes well.

I gave Chanel to my sister for her birthday. I think you would have appreciated the response.

Just left London yesterday to fly back over the Pond. Would have loved to have met you and visited Daunt again as I missed it this trip. Best of luck. May you sell many books!

Hi Justine,

My name is Michelle and I have always been a Chanel fan. I am yet to read your book but look forward to recieving it for Christmas. However, I have a rather different question. I am trying to find a way to get in contact with Monsieur Karl Lagerfeld and I remembered the article which you wrote in Harpers Bazaar Australia May 2010 which I LOVED. I am yet to find an article as captivating. As I said I am trying to get in contact as I would love to do an apprenticeship with him because he is a legend. I have written letters and attached designs and yet to hear word. But if you know of any way that I can get in touch it would be very helpful. My email is: miszeln@hotmail.com (I know it is weird but it is not spam!)
Thank you very much, and have fun in Chelsea!

Michelle, thanks for your message. The only advice I can give is to keep trying; I know of no other way... Good luck.

I went by at 9.47 last night. The lights of Daunts were off, the grill was down. So near and yet so far.
I hope you sold and signed lots of books.
Marylebone High St looked magical.

Excellent performance on Start the Week this morning, Justine. One or two of your fellow participants seemed a trifle grudging about fashion, but you more than held your own. Let's hope it does wonders for some last minute Christmas sales.

For those who didn't hear it - and I dare say Justine will be far too modest to promote it herself - the link is as follows: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b00wp012/Start_the_Week_20_12_2010
