On the hill...

I've been down to London again this week, for work and a domestic drain crisis (ah, the glamour). But now back in the Highlands, where the heather is glorious, and the sun has been mostly shining. After lunch today, I went for a long walk, and grazed on tiny wild blueberries (otherwise known as blaeberries) -- they taste as fresh as the breeze. On the way home, a soft rain fell, which was oddly soothing, however much I love the sunlight and blue skies.

Sounds like a wonderful walk. But wayside grazing is out for a town mouse like me. I wouldn't dare eat a wild anything.

Oh, you should see all the mushrooms that are springing up overnight -- fairytale circles and toadstools. I don't dare try any of the abundant fungi, but I am looking forward to the ripening wild raspberries along the lane.

Lovely photo. Do you fly up and back? How long does it take you to do the round trip?

Gorgeous colours in the photo. I'd love a scarf in those colours. We have hard awful rain at the moment and no berries on our bushes. I have installed a bird feeder in our small garden and what a delight it is to watch the White Eyes and Sugar Birds who come to call. Nature does indeed offer up something wonderful.

Oh so sad just heard you aren't coming to Open Book here. I was so looking forward to seeing you.

I just heard some fabulously wonderful news - if it's true, and I really hope it is, then that talk about DV with you and Alexander Vreeland was more significant than I realised at the time!?
